Watch: SEER Project Validation Video Released

Mon, 19 February, 2024

The SEER project consortium have released a new behind-the-scenes video showing tool validation trials.

The SEER project brought together 11 partners from across Europe to develop self-monitoring tools to revolutionise the composite tooling industry. The tools include embedded photonic integrated circuits (PICs) that help cost effectively manufacture products faster with higher levels of accuracy.

More productive tools with reduced part distortion and highly repeatable quality levels will not only reduce costs but will also help users stay competitive.

The newly-released video shows the SEER team preparing the sensors and tools ahead of shipping to an R&D location operated by project partner Aernnova. The validation trials demonstrated the challenges faced by end-users with their current RTM tooling, with SEER sensors located at known areas of concerns based on that knowledge.

The successful trials validated the degree of cure achieved through the sensor control of the integral tool heating.
